Introducing Claire..

Claire is a 350HR + Yoga and Meditation Teacher. She teaches embodied yoga which is very important to her to share this precious gift with others. Embodied yoga is all about how yoga feels in the body and not how it looks. It takes our awareness and self compassion from the mat to our everyday lives. Claire is a very experienced runner and has run with Newbridge Athletics Club for over 13 years. During this time she has run 6 marathons and over 10 half marathons. She has won medals for county cross county and road races and she is very proud to have 3 Leinster medals. She also coaches the juvenile club members. Claire's passions are yoga and running and she genuinely feels that the combination of both are perfect together. Yoga supports the body and the mind to maintain strength , stability, and mobility. It promotes and increases the awareness required to sustain a healthy mind and body connection. Claire truly believes that yoga has supported her body and mind through 6 marathons, injury free and with a good post marathon recovery. Claire attends weekly yoga classes herself and enjoys regular training workshops. She believes in the power of yoga and loves to share her passion with her students, guiding and supporting them to connect to the awareness within themselves. Claire loves to help her students to nourish and to become their best self , through yoga, pranayama and meditation. She feels deeply that yoga heals and stupports her through times of stress and anxiety.

Embodied Ashtanga style sports yoga class for athletes and runners

This Yoga class is for building strength and stability, mobility and flexibility. This is a challenging strength and stretching class for athletes. We will focus on different body parts each week from ankles and feet to knees, hips, back, core and shoulders. Helping to prevent injuries and boost performance. 

The class ends with a beautiful body scan meditation.

In her classes, Claire is a kind and compassionate yoga teacher and will guide and support you  through the different anasa (yoga poses). She will encourage and support you  to feel comfortable in the studio and within yourself. You will move through the class with her soft tone guiding you and she will modify asana to your own personal ability. She will always encourage you to listen to your own body,  'our bodies are as unique as our personalities'. Her aim is to share her deep joy of yoga and to leave her class feeling strong both physically and emotionally. You will also feel relaxed and calm.

I signed up for Claire’s yoga for runners specific classes as I was suffering from lower back/pelvis pain. The classes were designed to hit specific areas, from lower back, core to glutes & hamstrings, which I found incredibly beneficial and there are stretches/movements I have now built into my pre/post exercise routines. I found my range of motion improved greatly over the 6 weeks course, I could actually touch my toes at the end of the course. 

 

I’d highly recommend Claire’s classes , her approach is very open and friendly and welcomes people of all abilities.
